Person Living A Life Of Service-Mother Teresa Mother Teresa said "By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus.“

Mother Teresa “The Missionaries of Charity Fathers, was founded by Mother Teresa with Fr. Joseph Langford, combining the vocation of the Missionaries of Charity with the Ministerial Priesthood.” Their mission was to care for, in Mother Teresa's words“ the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone.“ She led a selfless live restlessly serving her people and community

Non-Famous Person Justin Nunes is a pastor at Parkway Community serving his church and leading service projects to benefit the local community.

He and his team had signed up for a weekend of volunteer work, helping with the Veterans Day Parade, vacation Bible school at Bridge to Life and feeding meals at Mission Solano. Every year he volunteers for VBS at church and goes on multiple mission trips to Mexico, Ecuador, and Africa. He has adopted two children from Africa in the past 2 years and planned a mission trip for high schoolers to go to Africa. He and other pastors of Parkway started “Project City Hope” in Fairfield which is a community outreach program.

Common Traits Each of these three people have volunteered many hours and even days of their time to benefit not only their personal communities, but also outreaching to different countries. They all strive to make a difference and bring hope to communities by relying on their faith to overcome hardships and are successful in their efforts to volunteer as much as possible.

Admirable Traits Kate Middleton spends a lot of her time volunteering in a variety of different organizations. Mother Teresa literally devoted her life to serving other people and God, through that many lives have been impacted and many organizations have been started because of her. Justin Nunes makes a huge impact on teenagers life every week by leading a youth group and he also devotes his time to Mission Solano and outreach programs in other countries.

How We Identify With These People Kate Middleton: She is someone who I look up to not only as someone who performs service and who is a famous Duchess but I also identify myself with her because of her great sense of fashion. Character wise, we both enjoy serving our own and other communities, giving to others, and treating others with the utmost kindness and respect. Mother Teresa: I did some digging and found a website that discussed unknown facts about Mother Teresa and I discovered that she once wanted to be a history and geography teacher. Not only does she lead the admirable life that I’d like to live up to one day, but I too have an interest in teaching history sometime in my future. Mother Teresa seemed to care more about others than herself. I too sometimes find myself making sure everyone else is okay before I worry about my own-self.

Continued: Justin Nunes, the Director of High School and Outreach Communities, finds a way to serve by also spreading the word of God. Being a Christian myself, I identify with his beliefs to serve God and his community by making a difference, treating others with kindness, and striving to be one’s best self.

Reflection My reflection on these three people who have devoted their lives to serving others makes me want to go after my goals more than ever and one way I can do that is to stick with my service learning project throughout the entire year. I want to serve others because it feels good to do things for other people who need help. I don’t have to be famous or have a lot of money to do these things, I can just have a little faith and lend a helping hand to those who need it. These three people are an inspiration and totally make me reevaluate the way I am living my life.
