5.2 Identifying Equipments of Processing soil There are 3 groups of soil processing appliances, they are : Opener appliance ( Primary Tillage Equipment) Destroyer appliance or refiner ( Secondary Tillage Equipment) Leveler appliance and embankment dike ( Finishing Tillage Equipment)

a. Soil opener appliance( plough / plow) Figure

There are 2 kinds of plough, both are moldboard types : Single Action, plough which can only cut and throw soil to one direction Double Action ( Reversible Plow ), plough which can fluctuate direction of throwing soil ( to left or to right)

b. Destroyer appliances - Comb harrow and hoe / rotating harrow Comb harrow used after plowing, hoe/ rotating harrow is used after rotary processing Figure
