WELCOME to 7th Grade Language Arts! With Ms. Cat McCarrey

A little about Ms. McCarrey One lovely husband, Taylor, and a happy one year-old girl, Alex. B.A. in English Teaching from Brigham Young University, M.S. in Journalism from Boston University. 3rd year at Maywood. Loves TV and Sandwiches.

The Workshop Model 7th grade language arts features a lot of free choice and experimentation, thanks to a workshop model with small groups and intense focus. READING WORKSHOPS: Books about courage Non-fiction Dystopian WRITING WORKSHOPS: Realistic Fiction Research Paper Poetry Arts Review We’ll also read plays, poems, news articles, and short stories throughout the school year.

Office 365 Students need to use Office 365 or another online writing tool (like Google docs), so they can always access their writing. Login to Office 365 is the same as their school computer login, with “@Issaquah.wednet.edu” added to the username. Login here: microsoftonline.com

Study Helps King County Library Maywood Library After school Study Zone at each location. Check library website for calendar. Online study help from 2:00 – midnight every day. Log-in to website for help. Available in Spanish. After school help from 2:35 - 4:20 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Activity bus available for students who stay.
