Past Tense Verbs A verb is an action word that shows something that we do. Past tense verbs tell about actions that already happened. Past tense verbs can be simple, adding –ed at the end, or irregular, changing the word completely. For example: I walked to school last week. (simple, adding –ed to “walk”)*the time “last week” tells me it is past tense Sam ate a huge sandwich for lunch yesterday. (irregular, changing the word from “eat” to “ate”)*The time “yesterday” tells me it is past tense

They tell about the main idea. Underground Town Have you seen a praise dog town? That is where prairie dogs live. But this town has no building or houses. Prairie dogs live underground. They dig deep into the earth to make tunnels. Along the tunnels are rooms for sleeping or storing food. One room is lined with grass for the babies!
