Article I Defines the power and limits of the legislative branch

Article 1, Section 1 Congress consist of 2 houses House of Representatives Senate

Article 1, Section 2 House of Representatives Members elected every 2 years Qualifications Be 25 years old Citizen for 7 years Reside in the state they represent Representation is based on population Vacancies filled by special elections Have a Speaker and Power to Impeach

Article 1, Section 3 Senate Members elected every 6 years 1/3 of Senate is elected every 2 years Qualifications Be 30 years old Citizen for 9 years Reside in the state they represent Vacancies filled by special elections Vice President presides over senate Tries Impeachment proceedings
