WHOLE-HOME DVR CUSTOMER TURN-UP Feature utilizes (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) MoCA technology to transmit signal between set top boxes w/ Rovi method of transport MoCa transmission is set at 1150MHz with enough power to “blast” through splitters designed for <1GHz

Installation Procedure Install 1150MHz MoCa filter at customer premise main splitter – this will block MoCa 1150MHz signal from interfering w/ other cable customers Install 1 hub(DVR) box per system & up to 4 client boxes DVR types to use are DCX3510-M & DCX3501-M Client box types to use – DCX3200-M(round power button) & DCX 700 Requires box types w/ Passport echo_dct 35.85 SW Must have 1 hub & client box both activated for feature to work

Installation procedure cont’d. 3)Have service rep. initiate a service order for Whole-Home DVR feature “7:00” should show on time screen on box when this is generated When activated the whole home DVR symbol appears on the set top(after Hub & 1 client box are activated) Can also be activated directly from DAC Set top can be on or off during this Hub & client boxes can be interchanged/replaced(will lose hub content)

Adding “Whole Home DVR” Package to account When adding the Whole Home DVR package, a service order will need to be created. Once you reach the “TV Channel Assignments” window within the service order flow, add the code “WHDVR”. This code gets added to an account like any other CATV package.

Hitting Box with “Whole Home DVR” Code Once you reach the CPE screen, select the box needed for the “Whole Home DVR package” and click “Refresh Billed Packages” as this will hit the box with the appropriate code. DVR boxes include:DCX3510-M & DCX3501-M Client boxes include: DCX3200-M & DCX 700 Clicking “Set-top Features” will show Settop Information. Packages (from Set-top): will include “Whole Home DVR (60010)” once the box has been hit with the Whole Home DVR package.

Whole-Home Functionality on Hub & Client Box All programs are recorded on the hub box – maximum of 2 programs at a time Client boxes can watch other programming while recordings take place but hub must stay on one of the recordings if two are occurring simultaneously Review Rovi “Addendum:Passport Guide User Manual” Name set tops – To assign a name to each of the networked set-top boxes in your home use General Settings menu (press Settings or Menu twice), select Accessories then Settop Box Name and select from the list, for example Bedroom, Family Room, etc.

After installation record program on client box – then select “List” – if there is nothing shown for recorded programs re-boot hub box Cannot pause or stop live content from box in room “A” and view content room “B” from where it was left off – must record content Cannot pause recorded content on box in room “A” and start back in room “B” from where it was paused – must stop recording in room “A” and then start back in room “B” in order to do this

Ways to Determine Boxes on Network: Set up box name as described in “Addendum:Passport Guide user Manual” (e.g. Bedroom 1, Living Room, etc.) Go into Diagnostics on Hub box(Power Off, Select) and select Option 17 – all box MAC addresses are shown (the one w/ the * by the STB MAC is the one selected) Note: MAC address may be off by one number/letter Go into a second form of diagnostics on Hub box w/ set top box on select “Menu” then “down” arrow then “B” then “UP” arrow then “B” again – Scroll to Settop info:HMA screen – all box MAC addresses are shown (the + beside the MAC address is the box selected)

Procedure for Installation recap: Service Representative will initiate service order to include feature starting w/ Hub box then client(s) Field Technician install MoCA filter outside home Field Technician install hub/client boxes Field Technician will check one of the diagnostic screens to make sure all boxes are added Field Technician will name boxes Field Technician will test record on a client box Turn over to customer
