Recipe for a Successful 2nd Grader What can you do at home?

Your student’s Homework Folder is your major communication tool between home and school. Check it Every Night!

Students will record their homework and the number of strikes they received on their Homework Sheet each day. Check it Every Night!

Students should read orally at least 10 mins each night to an adult Students should read orally at least 10 mins each night to an adult. Please record the title of the book and sign or initial by the title.

Please sign your student’s Homework sheet and Reading Record sheet each night.

Students will color in their behavior calendar each day. Please initial the calendar at the end of each week. Return the calendar in the emptied Friday Folder on Monday. Students will color in their behavior calendar each day.

Most checked papers from the week and the Falcon Pride calendar will be sent home at the end of the week in your child’s Friday Folder.

Weekly Reading will showcase our weekly story, vocabulary, spelling list, and sight words! This will come home at the beginning of each week.

This year, we’re using ClassDojo to build our classroom community We’ll build a positive culture where students are engaged, encouraged, and love learning! All parents are part of our classroom community, seeing what we’re learning every day.

How we’ll use ClassDojo As a teacher, I will: Post announcements and updates regularly on Class Story Share photos and videos of our classroom activities Send private messages to keep you in the loop! Students will: Share classwork on their own digital portfolio Only family members will be able to view their work
