Agenda Architecture Standards NFC Overview NFC vs RFID Use cases Interested Organizations Issues Questions

is a short range wireless connectivity technology standard   Based on RFID, makes use of interacting electromagnetic radio fields NFC is completely effort-free, requiring nothing more than a tap Consumes a mere 15 mA of power (nothing for today's smartphone abatteries)

Though NFC is based on RFID but the difference between them is very crucial VS

RFID It’s a broad term covering different types of chip and antenna. The radio frequencies, reading distance and data encoding methods of the chip can vary enormously. RFI has only one mode of operation VS NFC NFC Tags are very well defined, but can be considered as a special form of RFID strict specifications that allow them to be used in an open context. NFC has three modes i- tag read/write ii- tag emulation iii- P2P data transfer
