Scott Diamond skiing@scottdiamond.com 503.643.6779 (mobile) ONC Wy’East Ski Tour Get two weekends worth of skiing in on one day. We’ll set up a car shuttle and then ski from Glacier View Sno Park (by Ski Bowl) all the way to Pocket Creek. We’ll gain ~2,800 feet, drop a little less and cover ~18 miles as we ski some of my favorite trails: Cross Town, Yellow Jacket, White River, Bennett Pass, and Meadows Creek Tie Trail. This is an advanced tour both in distance and in technical skiing required (Yellow Jacket trail is very advanced). This will be a long day with9+ hours on the snow but this is my favorite tour at Mt. Hood. Meeting Time: 5:30 AM Scott Diamond skiing@scottdiamond.com 503.643.6779 (mobile)

Notes from 2012 15 miles Glacier to Teacup Probably 3 more to pocket 2,800 feet of climbing 7 hours to teacup

General Comments Fitness Bail Out Options Pace I would not recommend doing this trip if you do not think you can complete it (you run the risk of ending the trip for the rest of the group) Bail Out Options If you must stop during the tour your only option will be at one of our road crossings of HWY 35. At that point you can hitchhike to a place where the we can pick you up on the way out. Pace We don’t need to travel fast when skiing but we absolutely cannot dawdle on the trail. Please make sure your equipment is in good order. We will not take an extended lunch break. Instead, at regular intervals we’ll stop for 10-15 minutes to refuel.

Estimated Timing 5:30 AM Departure from Gateway 7:15 AM Car Drop at Pocket Creek (then drive to start) 8:15 AM Start Skiing 5:30 PM Finish Skiing (9+ hours of skiing) 7:00 PM back at Gateway

Note we are modifying the route listed in Klindt’s book but his description gives a feel for the tour
