LED-Backlit TVs What makes them great?

Technology LED-Backlit TVs use mostly the same technology as LCD TVs but instead of using a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp to provide the backlight for the display, it uses LEDs.

Advantages of LEDs More energy efficient – using 20 – 30% less energy than CCFLs Can shine brighter or be turned off for a better contrast Small – allowing TV sets to become thinner thereby using less materials for the housing

LED-Backlit techniques RGB Dynamic LED – Shows truer blacks and whites with the detail in small bright objects being less prominent EDGE LEDs have the LEDs arranged around the edge of the display in order to become thinner Full Array LEDs have no great improvement over LCD TVs except for the power consumption
