Welcome to Mrs. Bain’s Second Grade Class Mt. Bethel Elementary School 2017 - 2018

Mrs. Bain My name is Missy Bain and I am thrilled to be your Second Grade teacher at the GREATEST school on the planet! I began working at Mt. Bethel Elementary way back in 2003! The students I taught in the 2003 – 2004 school year are now seniors in college! I LOVE everything about Mt. Bethel, teaching Second Grade and my students! We’re going to have a fantastic year! This is me with my first class at MBES…

Growing Up I grew up right here in East Cobb! I grew up with a sister, Jennifer, who lives in Montana.

Education, Experience, Awards I graduated from The Lovett School in 1996. I completed my degree in Religious Studies and Theology from Agnes Scott College in 2000. Theta Alpha Kappa – National Honor Society I completed my teaching certificate in 2001 and then my Masters in Teaching from Oglethorpe University in 2004. Oglethorpe University Outstanding Teacher Award. 2006 Cobb County Green School Teacher of the Year 2009 PTA Outstanding Educator Award

Family I married my husband, Matt, 15 years ago! We have been blessed with three children: J.J. (8th grader) and twins Lauren and Luke (2nd graders). We live in East Cobb with our dog, Snickers.

Fun Facts… Any warm afternoon you will find me by the pool. We celebrate everything at The Waffle House. I share a birthday with Mickey Mouse!!! I have run 3 Disney Half Marathons. My twins were in a movie.
