The Elements of Art

An element is a basic part of something in its simplest form An element is a basic part of something in its simplest form. There are 7 elements in art.

Line,. shape,. form,. texture,. value,. color, Line, shape, form, texture, value, color, and space are the basic elements we find in all artwork.

LINE A path left by a moving point.

In box #1 Draw at Least 3 different types of lines

SHAPE An area contained by a line. Shapes are 2-D and can be geometric or organic.

In box #2 Draw at least 3 different shapes

Form describes volume and mass; it is 3-D.

In box #3 Draw at least 2 different Forms (They need shading!)
