Actionable Assessments Where TenMarks Fits Assignments Actionable Assessments Individual Work Home Connection Data and Insights Amplifiers Core Instruction TenMarks provides a helpful solution by amplifying the impact of teachers, providing them with tools to help them teach better, and, ultimately, driving student outcomes for all students. Note that core instruction is still the centerpiece of all of this; TenMarks is not intended to take the place of core instruction. Instead, TenMarks provides a series of tools to support, enhance, and reinforce that core instruction to increase the growth in students’ math skills and problem solving skills. Today we’ll look at a couple key areas where TenMarks offers practice and enhancements to instruction: the assignment loop that includes automatic, real-time interventions (known as amplifiers) when the students need them as well as our actionable assessments that lead to personalized learning opportunities for students.

Growth Mindset Belief that intelligence is not fixed Sees effort not ability, as a path to mastery Persists in the face of setbacks Embraces mistakes as important opportunity for growth “TenMarks also believes in the fundamental principle of growth mindset: that intelligence is not fixed and that effort matters. Growth Mindset was an idea established by Stanford professor, Carol Dweck.   Dwecks’ research shows that when students believe that intelligence is malleable and mainly a product of effort, they tend to be more resilient and engage in more challenging tasks than those students who think that intelligence is a fixed quantity that they have no control over. Students with growth mindset are more likely to engage in challenging academic work because they see challenges as a way to increase their knowledge. Growth mindset students also show more persistence in the face of setbacks because they know that mistakes are an important opportunity for intellectual growth. TenMarks not only believes that all children can learn, but we have created a product with specific features that help student’s increase their growth mindset. We will go into more detail about specific features later on in both the presentation and the demo.” See challenges as a way to increase knowledge

Growth Mindset Tools in TenMarks Hints Videos Real-Time Feedback Amplifiers In the moment second attempts As you just experienced, the questions on TM are challenging and rigorous. At TenMarks, it’s really important to us that our product helps to support a growth mindset for students. So, we have consciously embedded tools within TenMarks to foster a growth mindset in students. Some of these tools include our hints, videos, amplifiers, and the real-time feedback students receive on their answers. Be on the lookout for these tools as you spend more time today as a student in TenMarks and how they support you as a learner. Write these words down on paper… Have them close by as you experience TenMarks today and be thinking about how these embedded, automatic resources support development of growth mindset as a student doing TenMarks.
