HANDS AND FEET

This assignment will be completed with a digital camera The purpose of the assignment will be to create a composition that shows good lighting and range of values. Expression of the hands will also be an important part of this assignment. You may choose to use the subject of either hands or feet. If you use feet, you must have bare feet The subject of Hands and Feet should be expressive/poetic. Hands can express a variety of characteristics including - a self portrait, anger, pain and joy to name a few. You must work with at least two other partners. This work will be changed to a black and white photo in Photoshop. Make sure you do not set your camera to "black and white" it will later interfere with the value dynamics in Photoshop. This image should also use the "macro" setting on your camera in order to get a clear focus on your subject.

GRADING The following information shows the grading criteria for this assignment: Work expresses an obvious style of expression Work shows strong range of value on the hands Image is in Focus Good range of values/contrast throughout composition including the background cloth Image shows strong composition – the majority of the image must show the subject of hands or feet
