History Of Soccer Over 250 million people play soccer in over 200 countries. It is played on a grass field or a Astroturf field. Astroturf is fake grass with grounded up tire in it. Soccer is one of the most popular sports in Europe and the Americas. Modern day soccer was established in 1863

Positions There can only be a total of 11 players on each team playing on the field at one time. For positions there is a goal keeper, 2 strikers but sometimes 3, three or 4 mid fielders and 4 fullbacks which defend the goal and the goal keeper. The two strikers play the top of the field and try to score goals and the mids are a mix of a full back and a striker.

Penalties There are 2 cards for penalties, there are a red card and a yellow. A yellow card is just like a warning, a red card means you get kicked out of the game and you can get suspended for a couple games depending on how bad the penalty was. Like if someone shoves or pushes that could be a yellow card, but if the shoved from the back or slide tackle and intently hit the player that is considered a red card.

The Game The game starts when the team kicks it off, in order to do the ball will be put in the middle of the field and what ever team has the ball the kick it to one of there team mates but the ball to got in front of them they cant kick it behind them or next to them it has to go in front of the player kicking it. After the ball has been kicked it is in play and the other team can go after it.
