iPad Users Guide CW2 David Hovey

Accessibility Options -The Accessibility tab in the general settings menu allows the user to adjust things like button and text size, keyboard types, magnification, etc. -The Zoom Tab under the accessibility menu contains a low light filter that should be applied during NVG flight to reduce the ambient light to the lowest possible level.

Zoom Menu / Low Light Filter -Turning on the zoom tab will activate the zoom menu by default and give you the ability to double tap the screen with three fingers to turn the menu on and off. -The zoom area should be set to full screen and magnification to the smallest level (1.2x)

Low Light Filter -Tapping the zoom menu button will launch the zoom icon where the level of zoom and filter can be selected -For the Low Light Filter the lowest zoom level should be selected and the low light filter can be applied by tapping “Choose Filter” and then selecting ”Low Light”

Display and Brightness Settings -The display and brightness settings area is where the screen brightness and lock / unlock settings can be manually figured. -It is recommended to leave the brightness in auto as much as possible to conserve power. NOTE: Once the low light filter is applied it can be adjusted by manually adjusting the screen brightness here or in the control panel. NOTE: Lock settings must be IAW the CAB SOP

Control Panel -In order to access the control panel the user can swipe up from the bottom of any screen and it will drag upwards.

Control Panel -The control panel contains a quick access to the airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, night shift, and screen rotation lock buttons. -It also contains quick access to the screen brightness adjustment and airdrop visibility menu as well as to the camera. NOTE: When the lowlight filter is applied the control panel is a good way to adjust the brightness settings
