2 - Personal Skill Computers / ECDL First Aid Debating Sign Language Musical instrument Foreign Language (not French / German) Speech & drama The following DO NOT qualify for the Personal Skill: Singing / Dancing Arts, crafts, painting All martial arts, Sporting / Physical activities. Knitting Driver Theory Test. Photography Mini Co. Your personal skill can be self taught, e.g. learning the guitar, online courses etc - but it must be verifiable by an activity supervisor and PAL. The learning has to be structured and there has to be a way of validating this. This doesn’t mean you have to pay for a class - there area lots of great, free online courses available! Remember sport is not applicable to the Personal Skill challenge as it belongs in the Physical Recreation challenge area.

Camping => tent required 4 - Adventure Journey 2 day, 1 night Adventure Journey With a 25km walk April / May 2018 Camping => tent required Approx. €50 - €65 per student Note for presenter: provide examples of Adventure Journeys, try to include local options to reduce cost. Some examples across Ireland include: walk a number of stages on The Wicklow Way, hike in The Burren, hike in the Slieve Bloom Mountains Capture your Adventure Journey experience by taking photos along the way

Bronze Award Community Involvement 1 hour per week 13 weeks Personal Skill 1 hour per week 13 weeks Physical Recreation 1 hour per week 13 weeks + extend ONE activity to 26 weeks (first 13 weeks + extra 13) Note for presenter: recap on requirements for the Bronze Award Many will already be doing Physical Recreation and developing a Personal Skill so you’re one step on your Gaisce journey already.

Go to www.gaisce.ie to register – pay €15 online Fill out a registration form online Print your record card. Complete record sheet – showing weekly signature of the activity supervisor / coach The record sheet acts as proof of attendance at your agreed weekly activities for both myself as a PAL and for Gaisce
