How to position the patient and the x-ray beam for a flexed knee weight-bearing PA view. It is difficult to put the film flat against the back of the knee in this view because the knee is bent, so the film is placed in front of the knee, and the x-ray beam is shot from posterior to anterior. Care must be taken when shooting this view to keep the x-ray beam parallel to the surface of the tibia, which may not be parallel to the floor when the knee is bent.
