Objectives Participants will learn: How the Administrator Technology Toolkit was utilized in a graduate course. Features of the toolkit that students found useful. Aspects of the toolkit needing revision

Administrator Technology Toolkit An online tool to support school administrators as they: acquire and maintain the skills necessary to be technology literate and meet the Maryland Technology Literacy Standards for School Administrators. Developed by MSET and MSDE

Formative Assessment – Minute Paper For one minute, write your answer to the following question: What do you know about the Administrator Technology Toolkit? Have you used it? How? We will share your responses with the whole group.

Technology Standards Facilitated Discussion Small groups assigned one of six NETS-A standards to facilitate Group prepared guided discussion questions Group assigned brief activity (from toolkit) for class to complete during discussion to better understand the standard Discussion lasted approximately 30-45 minutes for each standard

Improvements Needed Summary/Overview of entire toolkit needed Screencast tour? Need annotations for HOW to use the toolkit Need arrow to move BACK in toolkit (only have NEXT arrows) Guest Access doesn’t let you participate in discussion forums Promote the discussion boards more Make Resources Page more prominent with visible link on each page since explains how to use toolkit Make sure all weblinks have descriptions of what they are Keep list of links to other sections visible on every page so it is easier to navigate More text features (bold, color, graphic cues) to make more engaging

Next Steps Create screencasts for each standard to explain content within each more clearly Repair broken links Annotate all links Add additional resources to keep toolkit up-to-date Suggestions?? Webex First Steps Document
