YMCA of Southern Nevada WALKS… A grassroots venture! Using the Safe Routes To School State report card to increase physical activity opportunities for community members within the YMCA service area.

The Y’s Role Nationally Engage members in walking programs Provide safe spaces and opportunities for indoor and outdoor walking Encourage walking thru health and well-being programs Engage in healthier communities initiatives that change environments

The Y’s Role Nationally The YMCA of the USA has allocated funding to support this initiative in all 50 states Each state has an alliance of multiple Y’s working together Nevada only has only one Y and therefore we are our own alliance!
