Cook’s Corner of Westmore: November 9th-13th Cook’s Corner of Westmore: *In Reading Workshop we continued our new Nonfiction Unit. We are looking at Text Features. *In Writing Workshop we continued our narrative writing unit-an author study about Patricia Polacco. *In Math Workshop we continued Chapter 4 “Multiplication Facts and Strategies”. *In Social Studies we began Chapter 2 “Communities of Different Sizes”. *In our Read Aloud we finished James and the Giant Peach. Tests Next Week: Tues.-Text Feature Test and math fact timed test Thurs.-math fact timed test and Chapter 4 Math Test Birthdays No birthdays this week. Please Check Out: *Please review the nonfiction vocabulary words in MyVocab. We have also been spending time reviewing text features such as glossary, heading, index, table of contents, photograph, caption and diagram. Please have your child locate these items in nonfiction texts he/she is reading at home! *Please return the yellow conference form if you have not already done so!
