Status of different Parts Budget Summary PAUCam Status Status of different Parts Budget Summary 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Mechanics The mechanical work to produce the camera enclosure is delayed by 2 months New equipment operational Decouple the orders to Magma (the company producing the carbon fiber materials) Still aiming at having vacuum test of the camera before summer “break” The rest of the assembly materials will come later Mechanical material orders are almost all done Filter trays to be ordered soon Still pending the electronics connectors (to check with the provider) 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Mechanics/Vacuum Additional mechanical issues are “on hold” Swam Neck Transport cart IMAT Few materials ordered Cooling of the electronics crates Very urgent to make sure the interfaces with the WHT are discussed Getter pump already ordered Will need again to get some experience with its operation 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Cooling The Cryotiger worked well Focal plane material ordered The second one ordered The one available will be installed in the “Cubito” to gain experience using it Focal plane material ordered Copper straps, etc… being finished 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Electronics/CCD’s Testing of the CCD’s worryingly delayed Good exchange with the HPK engineer One of our CCD’s to be sent to HPK for further testing We got the “confirmation” that our setup and electronics is adequate for the tests and that we control the CCD operation Waiting for this tests to be finished to Finalize design of the FE electronics and order it CCD characterization and planarity measurements 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Optics Window being ordered Filter orders will need few more weeks Pending studies of the filter transmission width Still polishing orders/prices with the suppliers Good news is that the filters might be cheaper than budgeted We might (depending on the delivery time) need to foresee first commissioning of PAUCam with only few WB filters 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Software Critically under(man)powered The infrastructure development in advancing well, though There has been also a lack of “testing candles” to help focusing in concrete working solutions Should change soon We will avoid, if possible, to develop special test-stands for software testing, but might need them if things get further delayed 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Budget Currently 5-5.6 MEUR Uncertainties Filters: 560-800 kEUR Personnel: 116-125 kEUR Some people might have started to be paid by other funding sources If nothing goes wrong, we should be able to finish the camera with some (hopefully) small help 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
Summary There remain few critical items Camera enclosure delivery and successful tests CCD’s characterization Filter delivery We will need manpower, specially in software Taking actions We will need to be flexible with out planning 25/4/12 Cristobal Padilla
