London Freight Enforcement Partnership Working Together To Achieve More

FREIGHT NON-COMPLIANCE IN LONDON – Issues of Concern Over half of vehicles operating in London are committing some type of offence. Nationally 25% of vehicles are operating with a potentially dangerous roadworthiness defect Data indicates that different industries have different compliance issues Drivers Hours offences are the most commonly detected Offenders consider the possibility of being caught to be low. Fixed Penalty Notices are not seen to be an effective deterrent Restricted Operator Licence holders are perceived to be more non-compliant

Summary London faces a series of challenges which can only be met by working closely together HGVs are over-represented in collisions, air quality issues and the causes of congestion Enforcement prior to the development of LFEP was disjointed with intelligence gaps and duplication in activity LFEP allows us to better focus our activity on the most dangerous and non-compliant operators Shared intelligence is key We seek to continually improve our activities
