An estimated 34 million people living with HIV, globally in 2011. An overview of the epidemic Source: UNAIDS, fact sheet, World AIDS Day 2012 An estimated 34 million people living with HIV, globally in 2011. 2.5 million became newly infected in 2011. 1.7 million died from AIDS related illnesses. More than 8 million have access to antiretroviral treatment in 2011.

And yet…

And yet… Stigma and discrimination still persists. Link between HIV response and employment is not fully appreciated.

Why take action at the workplace? 1. A place where people spend most of their time 2. Can expand HIV prevention services 3. Can increase the demand for voluntary counselling, testing and treatment 6. Can Offer opportunity to empower women and men to make informed choices 4. Can create a conducive environment to protects rights at work 5. Can take the response beyond health systems, leads to PPP
