Purpose of Oral Questions Arouse and maintain interest Promote mental activity Guide thinking Evaluate learning

Arouse and Maintain Interest It is human nature to be curious. Encourage it; it is one of your allies in learning!

Promote Mental Activity By asking your students challenging questions you are promoting mental activity.

Guide Thinking You have to set up a sequence to guide student thinking from the known towards a “must know”, in a logical progression.

Evaluate Learning After a group of Teaching Points or steps are taught and at the end of a lesson.
