Alignment Makes the Difference

A Story of Successful Alignment

Through the implementation of Beyond Textbooks, a rural school district in Troy, Idaho was able to align their curriculum and instruction and experience success.

Troy’s success was seen in rising state assessment scores, rising SAT scores, and a more positive learning environment.

This presentation outlines the process Troy School District #287 underwent during their successful realignment.

Objectives: Implementation of BT… Was a year long process of successful curriculum alignment. Resulted in growth of scores, collaboration and positive climate. It required less funding and fewer resources.

2012 Benson, AZ Ranked #1 in the State (BT’s First Partner 2009)

How Troy Decided to Implement BT Community members who voted “no” on the Supplemental Levy were constantly comparing Troy with surrounding districts to justify not voting for the levy.
