Lessons in Luke

Saved by the Law? Yes, if you follow it in every single point, but… There is no one righteous, not even one (Rom. 3:10) All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23)

Saved by the Law? For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. (James 2:10) A man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ (Gal. 2:16) The law was given to point us to Jesus Christ

The Good Samaritan The priest and the Levite ignored the injured man, but the Samaritan helped him Anyone we have an opportunity to help is our neighbor There is a lot of talk about getting the Gospel out, but little action to back it up

Martha & Mary Mary sat and listened to Jesus, but Martha was “distracted” by her work Martha’s worry and concern prevented her from focusing on Jesus When we focus on the wrong things, we allow the devil to steal our joy and peace

The Lord’s Prayer In Matthew 6, Jesus first tells us how not to pray Don’t pray in public if you’re only doing it to give the appearance of being holy Spending a lot of time in prayer doesn’t mean anything if you’re only going through the motions

The Lord’s Prayer Many people say this prayer without giving any thought to what the words really mean Jesus is giving us a model or pattern for prayer “After this manner, therefore pray ye:”
