Minorities in the Netherlands

Immigrants The netherlands has alot of immigrants. In 2006, 3,5mil people were immigrants. Thats one of fifth of the population Immigrants came from all over the Europe, mostly from the west.

School systems In Netherlands there are 2 kinds of schools. 1 school is called white school, where over 50% of population are all dutch people. The other one is called black school, where over 50% of the population are immigrants. Word black doesn’t mean skin colour, it means that you are an immigrant.

Sexual orientations Netherlands is a very tolerant country towards different sexual orientations. Homosexual acts were legalized in the late 19th century.

Gay rights The Netherlands was the first country to legalize same sex marriage. At the same time they legalized adoptions by homosexuals. There are still places in the Netherlands were these rights aren’t allowed but they have to approve adoptions and marriages that are signed in the continental Netherlands
