Who I Am Romell Chaney Kathy Wells Business Communication -BUS 368

Introduction Hello Ms. Kathy Wells. My name is Romell Chaney. Today, I’m going to talk to you about my life and who I am. I'm going to tell you about my life and were I was born and many things I have experienced. I am looking forward to your class and learning many new things in your class. Right now I'm going to talk about my life and were I was born and were I'm from.

Being Born I was born on August 24th 1995. I was born at 3:26 p.m. what was shocking to me was that I had a twin brother born as well. So yes I am a twin. I was born in Birmingham, AL. Growing up in Alabama was a challenge but I was willing to take that challenge. I love were I’m from and love it here.

Early Life Growing up in Alabama wasn’t easy. There was so much violence and so many things going on. My childhood was very fun and also scary. I picked up my first basketball when I was two years old. My uncle told me that I learned to do a crossover at the age of 2. I don’t remember that but I know its true because basketball is my favorite sport. Also in my early life, I was taught never give up and always pursue your dreams.

Different Schools I started school at Wilson Elementary School. I went there from kindergarten to 4th Grade. I had two best friends from Wilson Elementary School. There name was Arnold and Brandon. Those were my buddies. Times got hard for me and my family so we had to move and go to school some where else for 5th Grade. It was hard but we had to do what we had to do. My twin brother and I attended North Birmingham Elementary School for 5th Grade and it was awesome. Middle School was not the best for my twin brother and I. We attended 3 different middle schools. In the 6th grade, we attended Putnam Middle School. In the 7th Grade, we attended Jones Valley Middle School. In the 8th grade, we attended Wilkerson Middle School. Moving every year was very difficult and hard to adjust. But you have to be able to adapt. In high school, we stayed at the same high school for all 4 years. We attended G.W. Carver High School. My high school years were amazing. I graduated from G.W. Carver High School.

Attending College Attending college was a huge challenge for me. I never been away from my mom for a long time and this was about to be hard. I attended college at Rust College for my freshman year. It was a great experience and very fun. I made good grades and stayed on the right path. But I had to take a year off school to help take care of my daughter. I was disappointed but I had to take care of my daughter and do what’s right. After I took a year off school, I came back to school but I attended a different school. I attend Talladega College now and I love everything about this school.

My Dreams and Goals My dream is to have my own sports television show. I love sports and love debating sports topics. My goal is to make it to sports center and be on ESPN. Debating sports is so fun to me and I enjoy listening to other people opinions on different things around the NFL, NBA, MLB, and great sports topics.

My Character I’m a hard working person and I never give up. I also stick to one thing and always focus on it. I was taught to never give up and never quit. I always use that motto for when things get hard for me. I challenge myself everyday to be great and keep moving forward. Don’t let anything distract from your goals and dreams. No matter how big the challenge is, I'm willing to take that challenge and try my best to pass that challenge.
