Introduction about Cheetahs Cheetahs live about 10 to 12 years and can reach up to the speed of 70 miles per hour. There weight is usually 110 to 140 lbs. There height is 2 ½ to 3 feet. Cheetahs have lean bodies, long legs, a large heart, expansive lungs, and a dog like body with a cat like head.
Why Cheetahs are endangered Cheetahs are manly endangered because loss of habitat and clashes with farmers. The clashes happen when cheetahs try to eat food from farmers but get killed in the process. Ranchers also kill the cheetahs to protect their life stock. Humans have taken over most of there habitats and killed a lot of their food and the cheetahs too. They used the cheetahs fur to sell for money.
What is being done to save Cheetahs Projects and centre's have been started up to protect and breed Cheetahs. Schools are raising money to help the wild cheetahs survive. People are doing many activities such as garage sales, races, walks, festival booths, parties, reading, hikes, etc.
