Transportation LRE Writing Audit Prep Meeting Protocols Stacked, 3-D text at dramatic angle (Intermediate) To reproduce the text on this slide, do the following: On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click Layout, and then click Blank. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Text Box, and then on the slide, drag to draw the text box. Enter text in the text box and select the text. On the Home tab, in the Font group, select Impact from the Font list, and then change the font size of each line so that the text is approximately the same width. For example, if you entered “FIRST” on one line, “SECOND” on the next line, and so on (as shown on the slide), do the following: Select the second line of text, and then on the Home tab, in the Font group, enter 70 in the Font Size box. Select the first line of text, and then on the Home tab, in the Font group, enter 100 in the Font Size box. Select the third line of text, and then on the Home tab, in the Font group, enter 94 in the Font Size box. Select the fourth line of text, and then on the Home tab, in the Font group, enter 75.5 in the Font Size box. Select all of the text. On the Home tab, in the Font group, click Character Spacing, and then click More Spacing. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Center to center the text in the text box. In the Font dialog box, on the Character Spacing tab, in the Spacing list, select Expanded. In the By box, enter 2. Under Drawing Tools, on the Format tab, in the bottom right corner of the WordArt Styles group, click the Format Text Effects dialog box launcher. In the Format Text Effects dialog box, click Text Fill in the left pane, select Gradient fill in the right pane, and then do the following: In the Type list, select Radial. Under Gradient stops, click Add gradient stop or Remove gradient stop until two stops appear in the slider. Click the button next to Direction, and then click From Corner (second option from the left). Also under Gradient stops, customize the gradient stops that you added as follows: Select the first stop in the slider, and then do the following: In the Position box, enter 0%. Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors click White, Background 1, Darker 15% (third row, first option from the left). Select the last stop in the slider, and then do the following: In the Position box, enter 100%. Also in the Format Text Effects dialog box, click 3-D Rotation in the left pane. In the right pane, click the button next to Presets, and then under Perspective click Perspective Heroic Extreme Left (third row, second option from the left). Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors click White, Background 1, Darker 50% (sixth row, first option from the left). Also in the Format Text Effects dialog box, click 3-D Format in the left pane, and then do the following in the right pane: Under Bevel, click the button next to Top, and then under Bevel click Cool Slant (first row, fourth option from the left). Also in the Format Text Effects dialog box, click Shadow in the left pane. In the right pane, click the button next to Presets, and then under Perspective click Perspective Diagonal Upper Right (first row, second option from the left). Under Depth, in the Depth box, enter 70 pt. To reproduce the background on this slide, do the following: Right-click the slide background area, and then click Format Background. In the Format Background dialog box, click Fill in the left pane, select Gradient fill in the right pane, and then do the following: In the Type list, select Linear. Click the button next to Direction, and then click Linear Down (first row, second option from the left). In the Position box, enter 64%. Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors click Black, Text 1 (first row, second option from the left). Click the button next to Color, and then under Theme Colors click Black, Text 1, Lighter 35% (third row, second option from the left). Transportation **Most important: Section 7 must include justification for transportation under Developmental/Functional Needs and Transition…and possibly Communication (more for ED).

LRE

LRE Grid Minutes should match the content area offerings Consider creating a LRE Table 2 to prepare for the following year Creativity with schedules Ex. Substituting electives with direct service minutes Be ready to justify co-taught, pull-out, inclusion, and/or co-taught services Section 7 is where any setting is justified!

Audits

Audit Preparation Student Files: Sheet attached to each IEP file that requires anyone looking at the file to sign and date it w/ listing a purpose. *Recommend a different file for each school year’s paperwork. All IMPACT paperwork with original signatures should be in folders. Any behavior write-ups/logs- print from your electronic system. Attendance records IEP report cards summaries Any medical updates ALL academic tracking information Lexile, Interims, ACTs, etc. Teacher collaboration logs. *You will probably find it easier to just have a binder per grade level or per caseload.

Protocols NOCsFIEs/IEPs

N.O.C.s Important to know: Anyone on the NOC MUST come to the meeting. For anyone who can’t attend, the excusal document must be completed. Anyone not on the NOC who would like to attend must have the permission of the parent to participate in the meeting. Depending on your situation, you may have to reconvene. The purpose is about giving proper notice. Must give 10 days notice! If the parent agrees to come in sooner, still keep the 10th day-out-date on the NOC to show official notice was given. You will need to have the parent sign the 10-day waiver if s/he can come to a meeting prior to that date. This way you’ll be covered if no one shows as this being an official attempt. Log it in IMPACT under events (showing 3 different ways the NOC was sent)!

Meeting Protocols IEPs Prior to the IEP meeting NOC FIEs Prior to FIE Domain/Consent paperwork signed NOCs Learning Screeners completed prior to FIE if going to find eligible for having a SLD ALL RSP reports in draft (only finalize at the meeting) At FIE Provide Procedural Safeguards Best to have a document that the parent/guardian can sign that represents the safeguards were received/offered. Everyone sign cover page Eligibility Determination document SLD signature page (depends on disability category) Conference Recommendations signed by the parent/guardian Copies of RSP reports with signatures from RSPs for the family along with the Eligibility paperwork. Originals need to be in the student’s file IEPs Prior to the IEP meeting NOC Collect annual update on scholar’s growth both academically and behaviorally- depend on IEP and current needs Create an IEP draft in advance to provide to parent/guardian At IEP meeting Provide Procedural Safeguards Best to have a document that the parent/guardian can sign that represents the safeguards were received/offered. Sign cover page Get parent’s concerns Go through the IEP’s services and goals Complete Conference Recommendations Provide copies of the IEP to the family Originals need to be in the student’s file
