The Waverley Werewolves www.waverleywerewolves.co.uk The Waverley Werewolves Chapter 5

At about one o'clock in the morning, Brian said to Toby, "I can't get to sleep. Let's go exploring."   Step by step, they carefully made their way along the corriodr on the fifth floor, avoiding the creaking floorboards. "If we keep as close to the wall as possible", whispered Toby, "the floor does not creak as much." The corridor on the fourth floor was lined with posters from Hollywood musicals and there was a science fiction theme on the third floor. As they opened the door to the stairs on the second floor, a voice said, "It's too early for breakfast."

The Edinburgh bikers were standing in the stairway.   "Hello Brian and Toby", said Gary. "Should we be surprised that you are out exploring at this time of the morning?" "We couldn't sleep", said Toby. "There's a monster in our bedroom with large green eyes." "It could be worse", said Ross. "There's a giant poster of Julie Andrews from the Sound of Music in the bedroom Gary and I are sharing." "You're lucky", said Stewart. "Our poster is from Beauty and the Beast. It's Andy's favourite film and he keeps singing songs from it." They left the bikers on the stairway and carried on down to the sound of 'Beauty and the Beast.'

On the ground floor, a door opened into the Reception Area On the ground floor, a door opened into the Reception Area. The stairwell carried on downwards, but there was a chain across it, with a sign in large letters that said 'STAFF ONLY'.   Crawling under the chain, they carried on down another three floors until they reached a door that opened into a corridor that was very dimly lit. "Are you sure we should be down here?", whispered Toby. "What if we get caught?" The concrete floor of the corridor was bare and cold. There were no posters on the walls. There were three doors which were marked with the words storeroom and the numbers one, two and three. The fourth door had no sign on it. As they listened, they heard the unmistakable sound of howling  from behind the door and the door handle began to turn. Brian and Toby turned and fled back up the corridor to the stairs. The sound of howling followed them up the stairwell. They did not stop until they had reached the fifth floor and the safety of their bedroom.
