The Traditional and Emerging Views of Learning TECHNOLOGY TECHNOLOGY PEDAGOGY CONTENT CONTENT PEDAGOGY *Based on J. McEachan’s presentation ‘Collaboration Impact’ Presentation Title runs here l 00/00/00

The Nature of Learning is Changing Traditional View of Learning Emerging View of Learning TECHNOLOGY Use of technology as an end in itself TECHNOLOGY Becomes the context in which pedagogy and content operate PEDAGOGY Focuses on the handling of diversity among learners CONTENT Becomes a vehicle for learning outcomes CONTENT Is the focus of the learning and assessment… Key Question… What do you know? PEDAGOGY Becomes the focus on building learning capacity and skills… Key Question… What can you do with what you know? Presentation Title runs here l 00/00/00

We suggest attacking these multiple challenges in a holistic way Competency Focused Curriculum Inquiry-Based Learning Intervention/ELL BYOD Educator Effectiveness Improved student learning We suggest attacking these multiple challenges in a holistic way 2 REASONS: There is a high degree of interdependence amongst all these issues. They are converging together and it is artificial to look at them as isolating factors. Two, it’s overwhelming to address each of these factors in a one off manner. It really is a matter of TIME and FOCUS We want to pull everything together in plain English around the unified outcome of IMPROVED STUDENT OUTCOMES

Considering Steps 1-4: Discover and Qualify Task: Brainstorm questions that promote discovery and help qualify a lead? -Are there specific considerations to be aware of when applying the 7 Step process to this solution i.e. Are there warning signs to watch for? Are there specific “green lights” or “red lights” within the 7 steps? -example: if we were talking about intervention/LLI we might highlight that if a decision making process and funding source is not evident, we may not want to move forward or recommend a pilot and instead spend our efforts with a customer that is better prepared to make a decision - OR if we are talking about a digital solution we might want to highlight the “Account Management” step and the resources required to successfully implement a platform at a district scale and whether we have the resources in place
