Why is a healthy life style important? Because you can feel better. Because you can study, read, work better. Because you can prevent several diseases, like bulimia, anorexia, obesity, etc. Because you can keep fit and happier.

Just adding a little movement to our life can: Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes Improve joint stability Increase and improve range of movement Help maintain flexibility as you age Maintain bone mass Prevent osteoporosis and fractures Improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression Enhance self esteem Improve memory in elderly people Reduce stress

Simple ways to move your body Turn off the TV. Walk more. Do some chores. Pace while you talk. Be aware.

Food pyramid

Tips for simple ways to change how you eat You can know how many calories you need. Eat more fruit. Switch your salad dressing. Eat low fat or fat free products. Make some substitutes. Find ideas for healthy foods. Make small changes.

Negative aspects Drastic changes almost always lead to failure. Healthy life could provoke obsession. Wholesome food and active life are expensive. Restaurants, gyms, etc. Healthy life style could provoke other kind of diseases, vigorexia, anorexia,… Fast food is faster and cheaper.

To sum up: Active life Wholesome food You can improve your habits. You can avoid sedentarism. You can change your timetable and practise sports. You can walk to your job/school. You can use the stairs instead of taking the lift. Wholesome food You can eat more fruit. You can eat less meat or fattening food. You can know the characteristics of nourishment and the food pyramid. You can adapt a good diet to your needs.

Questions for debate: Is a healthy life style a good reason for someone to lose weight or could it provoke obsession in some people? Why do top athletes often die young? Could it be responsible for vigorexia, anorexia, bulimia and other diseases?
