Trophic Level Assignment (Can be done for extra credit in hours 5 & 6)

The Trophic Levels in Review Producers 1st Order Consumers 2nd Order Consumers 3rd Order Consumers Decomposers/Detritivores

Your job You will choose a local ecosystem (from list provided) Brainstorm as many plants and animals in that ecosystem, write them down You will create a trophic level diagram for the ecosystem (example pg 71, but no arrows needed) Name each level (see last slide) properly Minimum of 12 animals, 4 plants & 1 decomposer/detritivore

Local Ecosystems Your backyard or the OSH Courtyard Elm Creek Park Reserve The Mississippi River (in Minnesota) Lake Minnetonka (or any lake/pond your are familiar with) The Boundary Waters Area A marsh land Trophic Levels Producers 1st Order Consumers 2nd Order Consumers 3rd Order Consumers Decomposers/Detritivores
