The Clinician Educator Distinction

Who can earn this distinction? Traditional Internal Medicine Primary Care Medicine Medicine-Pediatrics Applications open in mid September to Traditional and Primary Care PGY2s, and Med/Peds PGY2s or PGY3s

Mission Statement To build upon our residents’ current proficiency as educators and communicators by introducing them to new concepts in observation, feedback, pedagogy, and public speaking in order to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and scholarship needed to transition our residents from clinicians who educate into true clinician educators.

What is required to earn the Clinician Educator Distinction? When a resident finishes, he/she will have: ~25 hours of classroom learning and workshops ~20 hours of structured observation A minimum of 30 hours of education practice (teaching!) One or more pieces of completed scholarship that live outside of Yale

Logging your credits Log into Yale Medhub Click the “Portfolio” tab in the top menu bar Select the type of required credit you would like to log in the drop-down menu

Complete entry form Complete all entries of the form to earn full credit For observation credits, please upload a scanned / photographed version of your structured observation forms by using the “upload file” option to the right of the screen For teaching activities that require faculty evaluation, please upload a scanned/photographed version of your evaluation form using the upload function as above No selections are required in the “Competencies” section Please allow program directors and mentors to see your entries

Complete mobile entry form Complete the entry form as you would in the desktop If you do not see the “File Upload” box on the right hand side of your phone’s screen, you may need to change to landscape mode, or scroll to the right of the browser
