Presentation transcript:

Coach Channell B105

Student Station Located in the BACK RIGHT side of the classroom I expect you to be prepared for class; however, if you need to borrow anything, you must gather the materials before the tardy bell rings. Sharpen any pencils as soon as you come to class. Class trays – turn in ALL work to the trays

Make up Work/Tests RIGHT Bulletin Board If you are absent, you need to check the folder with your block and get any handouts you missed. If you miss notes, it is your responsibility to get them from another student. If you will be absent for any school related activity or know you are going to be out, it is your responsibility to get the assignments before hand. If you miss a test, check the board on the right side of the room and make arrangements with me to make up the test.

Bell Work You will have daily BW. You are expected to come in the classroom, have all materials for class, and begin the BW. You will only have a short time to complete this BW – DO NOT wait until the Tardy Bell rings to begin BW. BW will be turned in on the Fridays we meet. You can use the same paper for your BWs to minimize paper usage. If you are absent and miss a BW write the date and “I was Absent” on that day. If you miss a Friday, you need to turn in your BWs the next day you come to class. (more than likely Tuesday) BWs will be a counted as a daily grade. (usually 5 @ 20 points/BW)

Agenda Located on the LEFT white board An agenda is a schedule of events and the order that they will be completed. You will have a DAILY agenda – please do not come in to class and ask me what we are “doing today”. You are high school students and can read THE agenda.

Tardies/Absences If you are tardy to class, please come in quietly and begin your BW. If you are tardy and do not have a pass, you will receive a discipline referral. (Each student is allowed a total of three (3) cumulative tardies per semester.) If you are absent, you will not be admitted to class unless you have a slip from the Attendance Office. (Mrs. Bush) If you will be absent for any school related activity, it is your responsibility to get the assignments before you are absent.

Eating/Drinking There will be NO eating/drinking in class – This policy is for ANY type of food or beverage as well as CANDY, GUM, etc. EXCEPT WATER in a CLEAR water bottle. Drinking water in a colored water bottle or any other type colored bottle will NOT be permitted. You will receive a discipline referral.

Hall Passes If you need to leave the classroom for any reason, you must gain permission from me and take a Hall pass with you. You will receive 10 BR passes per year. If you do NOT use the passes you will receive points on your semester exams. They must be turned into me for credit.

Note Cards Materials – 3x5 Index Cards In Biology, terminology is crucial. For every chapter you will be given a set of important terms. You will make Vocabulary Flash Cards and these Flash Cards will be graded for a daily grade. You will also have Major Tests on Vocabulary. For Chapter Tests you will be allowed to make a “Cheat Sheet” for the test. Using a 3x5 Index Card, you will be allowed to write anything to help you take the test and use it for a timed period on the test. (You may NOT use someone else’s “Cheat Sheet”)

Supplies • Three-ring binder • Loose leaf paper (wide rule preferred) • Writing utensils (pens; pencils) • Colored pencils or crayons – NO markers please • A hand-held sharpener • Ream of Copy Paper – A&P only

Bonus Materials Maybe brought for an extra 5 points on every major test Colored pencils/crayons Construction paper Glue sticks (4) Pencils/Pens Paper towels Facial tissue Hand sanitizer Index cards
