Distribution Server (Technical overview) ESS OCLC pushes EN content with a REST Webservice into the Distribution Server Translation Software pushes translated content with the same REST Webservice into the server Update Notification Manager stores and dispatches all updates in the Queues Every language with every application has it's own Queue, which gets pulled by the application Administration component registers, deregisters and clears Queues Journal Manager keeps track of all publications
Benefits Distribution Server (Technical overview) Support of "on-demand" updates instead of quarterly updates Push for data providing and pull for data receiving ensures high data qualitiy even if some applications are down/not available at publishing time Distribution Server is central instance for future data conversions (the DDC data structure can modified without the need of updating and installing all effected applications) Keeping track of data publishing with the Journal Manager
