What is the DCIC?

What is the DCIC? The Dual Credit Innovation Collaborative (DCIC)’s mission is to increase the long-term value of dual credit for students and institutions. The purpose of the collaborative is to develop a centralized, facilitated network charged with creating, testing, and refining a model for infusing rigor and quality, as well as igniting innovation, in dual credit spaces in the state of Texas.

Dual Credit Innovation Framework What is the DCIC? The DCIC will lead the development of a three-part Dual Credit Innovation Model. The three elements include a Dual Credit Innovation Framework, Dual Credit Faculty Fellowships, and a Dual Credit Strategic Plan. Dual Credit Innovation Framework Faculty Fellowships Strategic Plan

Reviewing Recent & Relevant Research Review of recent and relevant research and reports on dual credit in Texas Compilation of related dual credit challenges that exist at DCIC member institutions Compiling Data Compiling Challenges DCIC Accomplishments Outlining dual credit best practices Compiling dual credit data from member colleges which includes but is not limited to enrollment, success, and access by underserved students Outlining Best Practices

How can colleagues contribute to the work of the collaborative? Next Steps How can colleagues contribute to the work of the collaborative? ACCESS: Review information regarding the work on the DCIC website, including a repository of the most relevant and recent resources related to dual credit. COMMUNICATE: Continue discussions on the importance of dual credit and challenges that impact the long-term value of early college opportunities. CONTRIBUTE: Share your dual credit practices with the DCIC including lessons learned, challenges, and opportunities. ADVOCATE: Promote the positive impact of dual credit through success data and supportive testimonials about the long-term value of dual credit in Texas
