The Importance and Those Involved Land Preservation The Importance and Those Involved

What is Preservation? The idea that land needs to be identified as beneficial to the greater community. The land must be relatively untouched. The land must be made available for community appreciation.

Why Preservation? The rapid growth of human sprawl has consumed land for human use, both positive and negative. With the fear of humans claiming all land, even land of historical and emotional importance to others, organizations and governmental agencies began to claim lands for preservation purposes. Teddy Roosevelt was famous for this initiative, by claiming lands for National Parks.

Challenges Human needs We have certain needs that require space and land use. Humans need to develop land for survival and the guarantee for the security of future generations

Challenges Wants - Humans have acquired certain lifestyles that require the use of land and space. - Location and real estate = people want nice surroundings for their lives as well as all that allows them to live comfortable lives.

How to Strike the Balance The Ultimate Challenge The challenge is finding the compromise between human needs and wants with land preservation Town planners and land use planners as well as architects and engineers often grapple with this problem. This is what you are going to do.
