Events of Historical Importance The romantic era started in the late 18th century to the 19th century in Western Europe . In 1832 the population of Britain is 13.9 million, and the population of the US. is 12.9 million. June 18, 1812 the US declared war on Great Britain for the American rights. 1 Jan. 1828, Noah Webster published the 1st dictionary for English language. The romantic era is known for intense political & cultural upheavals. It was the beginning of the French Revolution. The romantic era moved from strict laws and advanced to artistic freedom, experimentation, and creativity
