The Redemption Story Hope and Shadia

What does it mean to redeem something? Justify or save someone from evil, sin or error.

How does God reveal Himself in this situation. Who is God here How does God reveal Himself in this situation? Who is God here? What does He do? God forgave David after he sinned with Bathsheba and David expressed repentance. God is one who seeks justice and who is loving and compassionate and knows what is best for us. He forgave David and let him and Bathsheba have another son named Solomon who they loved.

Who are the human characters in this situation Who are the human characters in this situation? How do they respond to God? The human characters are David, Bathsheba, Nathan the prophet of God. David pleaded with God for the child when the child was still alive but ill. He fasted and spent the nights lying in sackcloth on the ground. Then after the child had died David got up from the ground, washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes. When David was done he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Bathsheba mourned for her husband Uriah and her child. Nathan obeyed God by going to David and telling him the message from God about the sin he had committed.

How Does This Situation Foreshadow What God Does Through Jesus Christ? Just as God forgave David for his sin, God forgave us and redeemed us through Jesus Christ by dying on the cross. But there are still consequences that come with forgiveness including: David’s son dying, future problems with his kingdom and his sons. But also God is and was compassionate with us and David by putting David in line in the genealogy of Jesus by being a descendant of Jesus Christ.
