AIM: To be able to find the simplest form of a fraction

Vocabulary Equivalent Fractions- Fractions that name the same amount Simplest Form- When the only number that can be divided into the numerator and denominator evenly is 1.

Example Both numbers can be divided by five to find the simplest form. 10 2 ÷5 = 15 3 ÷5

What If It Can Be Simplified More? 16 8 4 ÷2 ÷2 = = 20 10 5 ÷2 ÷2 Keep Checking!!!!

Know Your Factors! To find the simplest form of a number you will need to know your factors 20 16 16 1 20 1 16 10 2 8 2 4 5 20 4 4 5 4 8 2 10 2 16 1 20 1
