Situated at the branching of Great Silk Way in XVI-XIX centuries Turkestan was spiritual and politic centre of turk language people and it was capital of Kazakh khanate . 40 km to the north of Turkestan there are saved by a miracle picturesque ruins of ancient city Sauran (XVII), known on Great Silk Way. Pride of the land is Abu Nasr Al-Farabi- the second Aristotle of East, who was born in Otyrar city. This land is connected with most interesting landmarks which are part of historical and cultural reserves and touristic object. formed in 1926 the reserve Aksu-Dzhabagly has become the first reserve created in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. One of the most beautiful places of Kazakhstan is known also for unique archeological findings. There are burial of plants and animals who lived here more than 140 million years ago at the place called Karabastau. 6
