Evaluation How we will measure success
Success measures Monitoring Evaluation Output Outcome Impact Questions Monitoring Evaluation Areas of enquiry Output Outcome Impact Tools Quantitative Qualitative Questions: what will we ask? Monitoring questions: To what extend has the communities capacity to response to climate change been enhanced? How have/will climate scenarios been used to inform policy/ adaptation by Government/Aid agencies? How are/will other stakeholders use this work? How will this assist their work? How effective are results communicated? How have/will collaborators apply tools/ results in their work? In what way has past/ current work been integrated in developing climate scenarios? How has/will IMHEN use climate scenarios in adaptation planning? To what extent are collaborators using climate projection tool? To what extent do collaborators understand results generated? What key results has the project yielded? In what way is this work important to collaborators Evaluation: 1. Relevance – why are we doing this work? 2. Effectiveness – how is it going? Will it work? 3. Efficiency – is it working smoothly? 4. Monitoring and evaluation – how do we know? Refer to M&E matrix 5. Sustainability – will benefits last? 6. Gender equity – how are we achieving it? 7. Cross-cutting issues and commitments – environment and climate change; disaster risk reduction 8. Risks to highlight – what needs attention? 9. Current issues – other things to know 10. Key results – so what? Areas of enquiry: where will we look for answers Output level: website, reports, workshop, training – process/content appropriate? Outcome: looking within project team, had project delivered its objectives Broader impacts: connect with collaborators, participants and other stakeholders to capture stories of impact and change Tools: what will we use to investigate Quantitative: look at numbers, demographic with website analytic tools, surveys Qualitative: capture through interviews (Most Significant Change technique) Communication Plan | Hoang Anh Cat
