Reviewer Invitation-Select Reviewers To click “Select Reviewers” leads to the reviewer account create and invite pages (shown in the next slide)

Reviewer Selection-Create Reviewer account

Reviewer Selection-Create Reviewer account

Reviewer Selection: Author-recommended/ /Opposed Reviewers Attention: editors should be cautious in inviting the author-recommended reviewers (marked “recommended” in the review list)! If you'd like to invite the author-recommended reviewer, please check its authenticity of the reviewer and its email address , and most importantly to check the research background and experience, and also their publications!

Reviewer Invitation- from possible reviewer list that the MS system recommends Machine may not be reliable!! To check reviewers’ research background and effectiveness of the email address!

Invite Reviewers

Make Recommendation It needs at least two reviewers’ comments to make recommendation for new submission. When two reviewers’ comments are completely opposite, it’s better to invite a third reviewer. You can change the default reviewer numbers “2”into “3” or “4” for different situations and save. Only one review is okay for a revision! As Prof. Iain Taylor said, we do not vote based on the numbers of “accept” when deciding whether a MS can be accepted! We should read the MS and the reviewers’ comments carefully and make judgment.

It needs at least two reviewers’ comments to make recommendation It needs at least two reviewers’ comments to make recommendation. So the ED needs to check the MS status frequently and repeat the above steps if needed.

Make recommendation The ED makes recommendation and forward to the EEIC. After the EEIC makes decision, the ED sends letters to inform the authors the decision with the comments and/or revision suggestions attached.

The editor possibly needs to send the revised MS to the reviewers for further checking after the major revision (if the editors think it’s necessary or the reviewers have suggested). The editor will make a thorough editing on the paper after it’s formally accepted.

You may play more than one roles in the ScholarOne Manuscript system of JMS. You can return to the main board to enter other centers such as Reviewer Center or Scientific Editor Center to accomplish other tasks.
