What is Communication?

What is Communication? The nature of communication is complex and contested.

What is Communication? The nature of communication is complex and contested. We will adopt a model of communication as a comprehensive view of meaningful human experience.

What is Communication? In this view, our subjective “interiority” and objective “things” can each be seen as outcomes of communicative interaction.

Communication is Theory Driven Practice

Communication is Theory Driven Practice A “theory” is a way of seeing/experiencing.

Critical communication theorists can help reveal the implicit power relations often hidden by commonsense theories And, they can help foster more participatory democratic communicative practices.

Communication Theory as Critical Methodology This course, then, will challenge you to think about the foundational role of communicative interaction in the formation of experience.
