What are the things to be careful about when answering questions What are the things to be careful about when answering questions? What helps you to be more successful /to get more points?

Grammar Be careful with the grammar the questions require. Concentrate on the beginning of the question.

Task 1 Give a short answer to these questions: Do you like the food in the school canteen? Would you change anything about our school? Did you have a good school friend at primary school? Have you ever participated in a course?

Content Always try to develop the answer. Add an explanation why, example from your life, …

Not understanding a question What can you do if you don´t understand a question? What can you do if you don‘t understand a particular word? !! At maturita the questions will NOT be paraphrased and further questions will not be asked!! – if you really do not understand it is better to move on and increase your chance of good answers.

Useful phrases Could you repeat it (the question), please? Can you say it again, please. What does the word …. mean? I don‘t understand the word … . Sorry, I don‘t understand. Can you ask the next question, please?

Some tips Do not think about the answer for too long. Get time by using phrases. If you are not sure what to say, MAKE IT UP.
