A Challenge and An Adventure! AP Human Geography A Challenge and An Adventure!

About AP Human Geography Learn about the systematic study of patterns that have shaped human life and alterations of the Earth. Learn how to interpret and use maps, data sets, geographic models, aerial photographs, and satellite images.

AP Human Geography This course is designed to emphasize critical reading and writing skills. Each chapter includes essays and various class activities or projects. Students will be analyzing images and documents to reflect a variety of spatial concepts. Each chapter will culminate in an assessment written in the AP format.

AP Human Geography Units Thinking Geographically Population and Migration Cultural Patterns and Processes Political Organization of Space Industrialization and Economic Development Agriculture, Food Production & Rural land use Cities and Urban Land Use

Expectations Know all basic world maps Analyze variety of data Read articles on current issues Apply vocabulary Write essays Interpret maps Use time wisely

Expectations (Cont.) Complete essays, document based questions and free response questions Participate in class discussions and handle an increased workload Cooperate with peers on projects and class activities Be prepared to spend time after class on reading and various assignments (1 hour per night)
