RESEARCH OBJECTIVES To establish students’ attitude and willingness to adopt the use of ICT in teaching and learning To establish teachers’ attitude and willingness to adopt the use of ICT in teaching and learning To find out the rate at which our school is adapting to ICT teaching and integration To find out effective ways of improving ICT teaching in our school

Questionnaires-150 questionnaires issued randomly: METHODOLOGY Questionnaires-150 questionnaires issued randomly: 40-form 3 and 4 each 25-form 2 and 1 each 10-teachers 10-spoilt 2. Face to face interview

WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO REPRESENT THE USE OF ICT IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

STUDENTS TEACHERS JET Syllabus covered fast Better understanding Fun learning Breaks monotony Fast research Digital Fast understanding Very interesting MATATU Can be used by anyone Enables interactions Everyone benefits It’s the trend It accommodates all BODABODA Most students have an ability of comprehending Requires skills Can go to challenging areas Can go to very remote areas

ADVANTAGES OF ICT INTERGRATION Improves understanding Makes lessons memorable Breaks monotony Improves concentration ICT literacy others 31% 26% 19% 11% 9% 4% 35% ICT advantages

DISADVANTAGES OF ICT USE IN CLASSROOMS STUDENTS’ VIEWS TEACHERS’ VIEWS “ Teachers become less creative” “Computer-illiteracy among students” “Difficult to acquire” “Technical problems” “If misused can break contact with the teacher “ “Technical problems” “Teachers download papers instead of setting them themselves” “It is quite expensive to purchase and install”
